The Social Investment Consultancy (TSIC) is an international consulting firm that helps businesses, charities and philanthropists to maximise their social impact. Our services for charities and social enterprises span social impact assessment, business planning, revenue generation, communications strategy and direct incubation.

TSIC was founded in 2008 by three social entrepreneurs with the goal of creating more effective partnerships between the for and non-profit sectors. We now have a team of six staff in London with backgrounds and experience ranging from management consulting and finance to social entrepreneurship and international development. We also work with a range of associates and have offices in New York and Dubai.

We offer services to VCSEs in the following areas:

Impact measurement - We collaborate with clients to design and implement impact measurement systems to suit the scale of their programmes and the capacity of their teams. We are able to offer an end-to-end service that includes the development of a logical framework, design of evaluation processes and data collection tools, quantitative and qualitative analysis, report writing and performance assessment.

Trading income and business planning - We support social purpose organisations looking to explore opportunities for earning income, whether through fee-paying service models, tendering for contracts or developing new trading activities. We are able to offer a complete service spanning ideas generation, testing of ideas, market research, business and financial planning, and operational planning for implementation.

Product development - We work with VCSEs to develop new products and services, including market research and testing, identifying price points, finding prospective buyers and suppliers, and outlining key requirements to launch products successfully.

Fundraising - TSIC has worked with a range of social ventures to develop and implement successful fundraising strategies. Our services span: 1) Conducting feasibility studies to identify suitable donors/investors and effective engagement strategies; 2) Donor/investor identification and strategies for cultivation; 3) Preparing documentation to take to investors; 4) Facilitating introductions; and 5) Tendering and bid writing.

Marketing and communications - Our team are expert at designing communication strategies that articulate organisational objectives and plans, and cultivate target supporters and investors. We also have experience in developing public-facing campaigns for VCSEs to engage a broader audience.
